Virgin a Day: The Mother is all around me...

Today  is the last day of the "Virgin a Day"  meme. Tonight want to share how Our Lady of Guadalupe  is all around me.Literally!I have her next to my bed.Watching over me as I sleep.

This night light is on my daughter's night table.

A decoration from Central America :
My "veladora".
 A shopping bag from Mexico:
One of my books:
A plaque:
I found this photo of me from when I visited la Basilica in Mexico City.I was about five years old.
Finally here are three of my humble drawings. Like I said  in a prior post I usually don't share my drawings because I am  too embarrassed! But here they are!
Again, thanks to Rebecca from http://www.corazon.typepad.com/  for hosting this meme.I have enjoyed all the wonderful shares .I have awesome ,creative new bloggers to follow.Thank you all!

  2. Your drawings are absolutely wonderful! And you, along with this meme, has inspired me to surround myself more with the images of our Mother. And, to be more prayerful.
I love the night light too. May I ask where one can purchase one just like that?
Have a blessed holiday and peace e with you.

  3. Carly,
this is very beautiful. I feel a sense of peace when you speak of Our Lady surrounding you in every facet of your home. Before this project, I had not paid attention to Mary in some time. In my childhood, as a Catholic, I paid much attention, but this project and all of you have made me think differently. Thank you.

  4. I don't know how I missed making a comment before today. I did come and see the collage, and I love iot. This p[ost is precious as you have shared part of your life with us. I love the night light, but better yet are your personal drawings. I love them. The South American piece on wood is awesome as I love the colors.
Someday I will make it to Mexico to see Our Lady of Guadalupe. Until them, I'll keep collecting what I can find. And like you mention, I have found new friends who have shared much. That's the best blessing from this entire exercise. Maybe Mary had something to do with it.

    Peace

  5. Hi Carly,

So sorry I came to this last Virgin so late. I totally missed it. Picture me rolling my eyes. But she is so beautiful. In fact, all of your many offerings today are. What a visual feast for the mind and heart.

I've been so blessed to make new friends via Rebecca's Virgins. I'll be by again.

    Merry Christmas

the picture of you as a young child at the basilica? priceless!!! as are your drawings.

thank you for being apart of the love that grew with each day.

with each day, the comfort of coming together grew in power and inspiration. it was the sacred in the ordinary we were after. i posted an invitation today...one i want to extent to you.
come. sit a spell....share....gather hearts that are one in the human condition, willing to find divine in the ordinary.
just the simple gift of ....doing it together.
