Peacefully Chaotic

How does it happen? How is it that a child is born and in the blink of an eye that child is all grown up? Gone is the sweet smelling baby swaddled in a receiving blanket ,gone the cherubic faced toddler,the child with that first lost baby tooth...the shy yet spunky  pre-teen and before you know it they are all grown up and getting ready to go out on their own. My oldest daughter is turning 21 this coming March and I can hardly believe it!Seems like yesterday we were playing pat -a -cake and watching Barney together and now I'm helping her with her college papers.My 17 year old graduates from High school in June and my "baby" is turning seven.It's all happening so fast! That is why I cherish every moment because time flies .I try to make every moment count but life gets so busy at times it's hard to keep up with everything,it can be  so overwhelming!But I do  feel it's important to spend quality time with my children.To listen to their stories,concerns and

I'd been thinking of several things I wanted to share on my blog and now they have flown right out of my head.I suppose I should just post the couple of things I have made for swaps via swapbot.com until I can remember the other stuff.There is a reason why I say my life is peacefully chaotic or is it actually chaotically peaceful??? Anyhow...I joined two snail mail swaps this month.The first a turkey "skinny"...titled Gobble ,Gobble , of course! And the other an artist trading card with "pin -up girls' as the theme.I chose Bettie Page as my  pin -up.She was a gutsy lady,very risque for her times. I enjoyed making these with the very limited materials I have so far unpacked. I need to get moving with arranging that little room so I can have my materials handy. But for now I make do.=)

1. The last band I saw live was Mana. 2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is seeing friends I haven't spent time with in a while. 3. My holiday shopping is not getting done until the last minute...unfortunately! 4. Thoughts of  silly worries fill my head. 5. I wish I could wear high heeled boots!So sexy! 6. No doubt is one of my favorite bands. I like every single song on Tragic Kingdom. Different People is one of my favorites on that album. I believe in embracing diversity. This world would be so bland if we weren’t all different. How awesome would it be if we could accept our differences and learn from one another? If instead of being fearful of the things that are unknown to us we take the time to find out what that culture, religion or belief is all about? Like this song says, there are so many different people with so many different minds,and so many different ways.it blows my mind just how much there is to learn about in this world about other people and places!It's amazing to me! Today was a beautiful,sunny Autumn day ! We spent some time outside to enjoy it because there won't be too many more like this. I  guess this bee was enjoying the day as well.It was loving this flower so much! Just had to snap a shot! When I was a child I was taught to show gratitude when someone did something nice for me or I was given a gift, no matter how small tthe gift or gesture.The important thing is to show your appreciation. That lesson has stuck with me.I like showing my appreciation,whether it's with a simple call,a big hug or when possible a hand made card. Last month my very dear friend,Carolina,who is my mother's best friend and is like a second mother to me ,bought me a cell phone. I was very much in need of one and I am so grateful to her for adding me to the family plan she has my mother and my daughter on. Now I can be reached at any time if my kids need something or if Caro, my husband or my mother are looking for me....hmmmm pehaps I am too easily reachable ???=) I am enjoying that phone! I like that I can  look at my facebook (lol) or update my twitter (I still forget to do that!) while I ride the bus to and from  work.  The point of this post however was to share about showing g
