The feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is Celebrated on December 12. Rebecca of Corazon invited me to participate in A Virgin Day event starting on December 1st until today. It has been such an honor to be a part of this daily celebration of the divine feminine. I have been amazed, touched and inspired by all the posts shared by everyone who has taken this 12 day journey.Once again I want to say:Thank you Rebecca and to all participants for sharing all these little pieces of yourselves! I look forward to next year! Today I was fortunate (and so happy) to have been invited to New York City, to the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe and to St.Patrick's Cathedral to celebrate Our Lady's special day. I would like to share some of the photos I took there. They are all taken with my cell phone.:-) Enjoy!

“In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.” ― Rumi Blessed Virgin Mary at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Mantin, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia         ♥    Notre Dame de Grasse, a beautiful Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary.                     “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ― Albert Einstein Abandoned memorial, old cemetery, Woodstock, New York "The best and most beautiful things in this world  cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." ~ Helen Keller. Visit Recuerda Mi Corazon for more Virgin A Day posts. Hurry tomorrow is the last day!;)

The Grasp Of Your Hand Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it. Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved, but hope for the patience to win my freedom    Grant me that I may not be a coward, feeling Your mercy in my success alone; but let me find the grasp of Your hand in my failure. from the book, The Heart of God selected andedited by Herbert F. Vetter. Charles E. Tuttle I can't believe day ten of Virgin a Day with Rebecca is upon us so quickly! I have been savoring each daily post by so many astounding bloggers! Virgin A Day #8

Watch "Ave Maria ( Caccini ) - Libera" on YouTube This past Monday as I walked up a hill to my job, I listened to Pandora internet radio as I usually do. I was pleasantly surprised when the song Ave Maria by the boy's choir Libera started playing.I had never before heard it on this station. I thought it was a coincidence that it came on at a time when my head is full of Mary images from all the wonderful blogs I've visited in the past few days. I  stopped and sat to savor the delightful music and enjoyed the sunny morning.Visions of Mary danced in my head. For those five minutes I felt totally peaceful. It's moments like that,  beautiful in their simplicity, that I cherish. Visit Rebecca's blog www.Corazon.typepad.com Her posts are always uplifting and a feast for the eyes. There you will find links to other blogs, equally as inspiring .Perhaps you'll decide to join in and post A Virgin A Day today and every day until December 12th! Have a joyous d

December 12th is the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Each day for the days leading up to it, I am posting a virgin a day. There are many faces to Mary and Rebecca's meme allows us to sjare so many pf them!Come see everyone's contributions here . For my post today I want to share a shadorma poem that I wrote to Mary.It was inspired by a little statuette  of the virgin that stands outside the house across the street from mine.I see it every morning and it makes my day begin with a positive attitude and renewed strength to face whatever the day brings. A shadorma by the way , is "a six line poem (sestet) of Spanish descent with no rhyme scheme. It is a syllabic poem with the following structure 3/5/3/3/7/5 ". My Shadorma: Each morning I begin my day greeting you with a prayer Your very presence gives hope Heals my tender soul~ It's Wednesday!Make it wonderful!

I've been invited to join in the second annual " Virgin A day" by the wonderful  Rebecca @ Recuerda mi Corazon . It begins today and ends on December 12th on Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast Day  I am honored to participate once again. In Rebecca's own words: Today marks the first day of December Beginning twelve days of mornings with Mary. Everyone is invited. While this is not about religion, it is about sharing, about opening hearts, rejoicing in ultimate mother love.it is about light, beauty, inspiration, thoughtful regard. a welcome chance to begin each new day together in beauty and peace. I suspect humor and charm will make strong appearances too. It is really about showing up. So... Here I am! I'm a Mexican American girl who grew up Catholic. Though I have "strayed" from Catholicism ,I honor the great Mother Goddess.I grew up with Our lady of Guadalupe. She is Still my LADY. When I think of a higher power it's her image that pops into my

Yummy Scarves!

I love chunky yarn! It's great for quick projects. I made a chunky scarf tonight as a birthday gift for a co-worker. I used Lion Brand's hometown USA. The color,  Tampa Spice will go beautifully with her warm Peruvian complexion. I hope she likes it! I think I will whip up a few more as gifts. They work up fast and I can crochet one on my bus ride to and from work. I also finished a scarf for Miss Kylie, using Dewdrops by Michael's Loops and threads.Hers is a gorgeous turquoise color. I am still working on her hat. Chunky yarn is warm and yummy to wear. Perhaps I will even make one for myself! Here is Li'l Miss Kylie modeling both scarves for me!

THE BOOK           MY TEASE: "Oh, it was delicious to have someone to keep secrets with. If I'd had a sister or a brother closer in age, I guessed that's what it would be like. But it wasn't just smoking or skirting around Mother. It was having someone look at you after your mother has nearly fretted herself to death because you are freakishly tall and frizzy and odd. Someone whose eyes simply said, without words, You are fine with me." Enjoy your week!Do a whole
