International Day Of Non-Violence/ Gandhi's Birthday!
I wanted to post this today because this is one of the people I hold great admiration for.He was a great spiritual leader, peacemaker and humanitarian.
Octobert 2nd has been declared International Day of Non-Violence in honor of Mohandas K. Ghandi's Birthday. This was decided on June 15th 2007 by The United Nations General Assembly as an occasion to reaffirm the “universal relevance of the principle of nonviolence” and the commitment to “a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and nonviolence” advocated by Gandhi.
Gandhi established the principle of non-violent resistance that was used by later revolutionaries like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr in Americas Civil Rights struggle and Nelson Mandela in South Africa.

A deeply spiritual man, Gandhi lived a life of simplicity.
He lived his beliefs, which included: PEACE,Compassion, faith, truth and non-violence. There is so much to be learned from people like him!
"The philosophy with which Mahatma Gandhi led his life can be summed up with his quote, "When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it - always".
–Mahatma Gandhi
MAHATMA is sanskrit for "GREAT SOUL"
and a great soul he was!
Seven blunders of the world that lead to violence: wealth without work, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without character, commerce without morality, science without humanity, worship without sacrifice, politics without principle.
