Facebook & Friday's Funnies on Saturday
Every day I want to blog and everyday I run out of time!By the time I am free I'm tired and it's too late.I also have to cut down on time on facebook and playing those FaceBook games.I have been way too concerned about harvesting my crops on:
and making sure my food doesn't spoil on:
Geez, the amount of time I've been spending on all the games was getting ridiculous!I don't know how peoplekeep up with it!I can't,so I am only really playing three of them regularly. It's fun but I sort of feel it's a bit of a waste of time.I could be blogging or reading the blogs I follow.Hmm I have to manage my time better!I will play the games but not on a daily basis like I used to.That is one way of freeing up some time.Considering I can only be online at night after my daughter is in bed.
Anyhow on to the cute ,funny pictures for this week!
Happy Easter to those who celebrate. My family does so I join in the festivities, but my holiday isOstara / Spring Equinox.
I really like this. The words are so true. I believe there is a lot of strength in women ,a lot of resilience. I think back to what my mother had to endure. How she had to do back breaking work for long hours to support her children. That took courage and faith.Lots of faith. I remember the hardships she went through, the endless struggles, dissapointments, worries. The lonliness and bitter tears she cried when we had to be in another country, away from her,so she could work and support us.I know of her disillusion with love.Love that mostly hurt.Twice she gave her heart, her love ,her soul only to be abandoned or cheated on and used. She told me it was worht it,just to have us.We were her joy.Her reason for going on!My but that woman had inner strength! She never gave up,orrelied on anyone but herself to take care of us.I am deeply grateful to her.She is my mother. Her role was that of a mother and father to us,because those fathers were not around.Never did they wipe a tear, sit by hospital be…
Happy Sunday! I decided to start an "Artist of the Week " post to do on Sundays! It's a good way to learn more about the different styles of each artist. This week in keeping with my Mexico theme, I will feature the fabulousFrida Kahlo : Frida was born on July 6th, 1907 in Coyoacan, Mexico to a Hungarian-Jewish father and a mother of Spanish and Mexican Indian descent. She was one of four daughters. Frida did not plan to become an artist .She had been studying Medicine at the " Escuela Nacional Preparatoria" in Mexico City. Out of 2000 students, Frida was one of only 35 women accepted into the prestigious institution. However in 1925 at the age she was severely injured in a bus accident in which she suffers fractures to her spine, collarbone and ribs, a shattered pelvis, and shoulder and foot injuries. While she is bed-ridden and encased in a body cast Frida began to paint lying in bed with a special easel rigged up by her mother. With the help of a mirror, Kah…
Here we are again!Wonderful Wednesday came quickly!
This week I'd like to share more things I love, like & enjoy! Since today begins the celebration of Mexican Independence I'm going to share some things I love about this country. For those who are just getting to know me ,I am Mexican -American.I was born in Southern California. My mother is 100% a Mexican "chilanga". Meaning she's from Mexico City. My father was Mexican American & German .I believe he loved the Mexican culture. So let's begin with the Mexican flag.I think it's beautiful:
This flag of the current times is a tricolor consisting of green, white and red vertical stripes with the coat of arms at the center in the white portion.
The colors have their own meanings. Green stands for hope, white for purity and red stands for religion. ♥
The coat of arms was designed by Architect Francisco Eppens Helguera . The coat of arms is an image of an eagle with a serpent held in its talon. The eagle is …
