Happy New Year! Thoughts for Thursday!

Image
“What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.” I hope to make 2010 a better year for my family and myself. I don't like making resolutions because I don't keep them.I do think though that I have goals that I should try very hard to make happen. I know that there's a lot I can do  if I push myself and not let allow myself to get consumed by my anxiety, depression and feeling of hopelessness. One of the things I need to work on is my health ,especially my weight. I don't want diabetes to be the death of me.I have enough damage caused by it already. I also need to stop isolating.that is a big thing. There are so many things,I could go on and on. The main thing is to spend lots of time and  have healthy ,harmonious relationships with the people I love. Without them, nothing else matters to me. This year the most awesome thing was that one of my dreams finally came true. My siblings (2 of them) resp...

Musical Monday:Man in the Mirror

This is the last Monday of 2009!I have to be honest...I'm glad a new year is coming.2009 has been a trying year.I don't forget my blessings ever but it's definitely been a toughie in many areas and I look forward to 2010 being a better year. I know that for the coming year I want to do more volunteer work.Helping others has always helped me. I forget about my troubles .That is tremendously healing to my soul.I also need to work on my Hands 4 Peace project which I totally neglected in 2009.I have always felt that I was born with a mission. ...to make a difference even in the smallest of ways, and that's what I want to do.I realize that in order to help others I need to start with myself.Start with the (wo)man in the mirror!

SATURDAY 9

Image
Saturday 9: Don't Talk to Strangers 1. Tell us about a night that you spent with someone who was a stranger, yet by the end of the night you were very close . Hmmmmm....I've never spent the night with a total stranger before ,however there was a time I met a homeless gentleman and we had lunch together.I learned a lot about his life and how he came to be in the situation he was in.That experience really humbled me and I will never forget it.On many  occasions I have met people and have had some awesome conversations that brought us a little bit closer.I think each person you meet leaves you with a little part of themselves. 2. When is the last time you rode the bus? I ride it everyday to and from work...so yesterday! 3. Describe the last time you stood up for a cause . I seem to do that a lot.Very often!I stand up for immigrants.I believe this country was built on the tears, blood and sweat of immigrants...and I think people tend to forget, everyone in the U...

Carry on Tuesday :Name In The Sky...

Image
I'm in no way a poet, but I do love poetry. I found this meme and decided to give it a go. Nothing out of this world but I enjoyed participating!I like this idea from CarryonTuesday.blogspot.com  and think I will participate again! If you're reading this and think you would like to participate check that blog out! This week the prompt is the opening lines of a very short poem by Jessica Blade entitled "Your Name" I wrote your name in the sky but the wind blew it away! I started to cry in dismay then  realized   your name is etched in my heart the memory of you is there to stay... It will never fade away! I painted your name in the night embellished with the stars that shine like your eyes looking into them made everything right... I wrote your name in the sky right under a rainbow it reminded me how you colored my world! and now I know as long as I look up at the skies I will always feel you near , it fills me with hope...  ...
