Peacefully Chaotic

I love this idea. I still have to learn how to link but I just want to go ahead and post a song that moves me before Monday is over! One of my very favorites is Imagine by John Lennon. I am a dreamer just like he was and I would love to live in a world where people could live in peace with each other.imagine.keep the dream alive!  

Last Sunday we decided to go spend a little time at the River front.The day was sunny and warm so there were lots of people out and about enjoying the day. Some were fishing. Some were sunbathing as they watched the boats. Others,like ourselves just sat on the benches and watched everyone and everything else. It's a peaceful place.I love to watch the waves,the sky, the boats,the horizon.... Kylie also enjoys the riverfront.Here she is,posing for me ! We like to walk a long the path and find interesting things such as these: There is also a beautiful 911 memorial We had a lovely time. But soon the sky started to darken. A rainstorm was underway. Soon it started to rain.And so it was time to say good-bye.We'll visit another day!

Boy have I neglected this blog! Things were chaotic for a little while since we had to move. I packed up most of my supplies and have not yet found the time to unpack them.I am going a bit crazy not being able to create. I have my crochet and my journals out, so that helps. This apartment has 4 bedrooms and we decided to make one our "computer/ art/play room". It's not a very big room, but we'll have to make it work. At the moment it's still full of packed boxes.Truthfully I have lots of stuff I need to get rid of still. That's hard for a pack rat like myself to do, but I don't want to be surrounded by clutter anymore.if I don't have a space for it it has to go. P E A C E I maded this Peace themed ATC for a swap on swap-bot.com. I wanted to keep it real simple with the word peace standing out,thus no other embellishments.Usually I embellish the heck out everything. I love the look of water colors so that is what I used for the background. The person I sent the card to seemed to like it. This is an altered bird house I made for my mother.It was supposed to be for Mother's day but as per my usual,I wasn't able to complete it on time. I finally gave it to her.I think she liked it! at least I HOPE she did. It was a lot of work but I enjoyed making it immensely.... I am always happy when I get to create something, especially if it's for someone I love .

This past Wednesday while I was rummaging through the donated book bin at my daughter's day care I came across this book. I had seen previews on the film and had asked my oldest daughter to order it for me. I was glad to find the book since I like to read books before watching the movie. I've read many books about the holocaust in the past,but this was definitely different. The story is about the friendship that develops between two little boys from completely different worlds.One is a child "living" in Auschwitz and the other the son of a Nazi commandant.They get to know one another with a fence looming between them...a fence that in the end can't keep them apart...
