Thoughts for Thursday

Image
My Thursday turned out pretty good. It was my first day back to work after my little vacation. I was apprehensive about it for reasons that I won't waste time writing about. It just goes to show worrying is a waste of time! It's always been a thing with me! I am a worry wart! So it's Thursday and I want to get back to blogging "Thoughts for Thursday". I want to write about a very special person : I am so blessed to have Carolina in my life. She has been part of my family since I was nine years old. We've gone through a lot of ups and downs, trials and tribulations . She has been the best friend anyone can have and she is my mom's bestie. She has a generous heart and even though she can have her grumpy moments she is one of the kindest people I know! This morning was freezing and she knows I have asthma and I do walking to get to the bus and then up a hill to work. So she took the time to pick me up from home and take me to work. Not only that but she...

Thoughts For Thursday

This is my first post of the year.I haven't done a Thoughts for Thurday in quite a while.I think it's a good place to start. I've been thinking a lot about my life lately. What I've done and foremost on my mind, what I haven't done and have yet to do. Most times I'm down on myself for not having reached my full potential...It feels like I haven't accomplished much  of anything. However there are other times when I think I am exactly where I should be,because there are  lessons to be learned..For example ,I have always felt that I was put on this Earth to help other. It's my calling,it's in my blood,it's what drives me.Only when I am doing something for someone else do I feel complete.I need to make a difference.I believe I do.Perhaps not in big ways, but in small ways that mean a lot to someone . That is why I love my job as a medical assistant. It gives me the opportunity to show compassion and caring .In the practice I work for we see our patients...

Thoughts for Thursday :Boredom

Image
“ I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom. ” As I was riding on the bus headed for home , I was thinking about a conversation I had with my co worker today. We were talking about spending time alone. She enjoys being alone with herself and so do I. I hear people complain about being alone or being at home & how bored they get.I have to say , I never   very rarely get bored. There is always something I want to do.There are books ,crafts, journals ,blogs... so much to keep me occupied for hours & hours!Ofcourse ther are always things to be done around the house as well!I don't like not doing anything....ever.I must have a book or something else to do.I often wonder why that is? Maybe I'm over analyzing it.I just really enjoy the creative process. I take my crochet or sewing with me when I go out.Today I took my crochet project with me on the bus .I can do that with out becoming dizzy or nauseated which is the the case when I ...

Thought for Thursday : I CAN do this!

There's been a lot on my mind this week...this is one of the biggest: There are two more days to go for the road to raw cleanse to finish and then the juice fast begins on Sunday. I am a little apprehensive about joining the juice feast. My biggest  was concern was  being able to do it being a diabetic, so I spoket to Janet ,  one of the NP's at work  & she said it would be ok as long as I closely monitored my blood sugars. I also read about it online. I learned that I have to go heavier on the veggie juices  than on the fruit only juices. I am still wondering if I'll be able to handle it?I've been in a perpetual state of hunger for the past month and a half. But decided I'm going to do it.I am going to give it a whirl! If it makes me sick and I can't handle it  then I'll have  go to green smoothies heavy on the greens. I have got to prove to myself that I can do what it takes to get healthier and reach my goal weight. I am determined...

Thoughts For Thursday

Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A word of optimism and hope. A "you can do it" when things are tough... Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections, but instantly set about remedying them - every day begin the task anew. Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible;                  and suddenly you are doing the impossible. Sometimes I go about pitying myself And all the while I am being carried across the sky By beautiful clouds.

When emotions are managed by the heart, they heighten your awareness of the world around you and add sparkle to life. The result is new intelligence and a new view of life. Just be sincere in your efforts and appreciate the progress you make, not expecting to be free from unpleasant emotions all at once. Each success builds more power and excitement. It gets easier as you go. When long-standing emotional issues lose some of their intensity and importance, things won’t bother you as much. ~ Doc Childre and Howard Martin, The HeartMath Solution

“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” Quote by:Mary Lou Cook * There was a time ,not long ago when I had stopped making ATC's or doing any kind of art for fear that it wasn't good enough or not as nice as other people's. I was miserable!I learned to let go of that way of thinking when it comes to my art.I just love creating way too much to let fear or criticism get in the way.I am my own worst critic!I know I've got a lot to learn and all kinds of things to explore and dabble in.So what if it isn't perfect, so what if I have tons more passion than talent???I had to tell my self "That's okay"! Crafting is very therapeutic for me.It's the only time I feel relaxed and able to let go of the day to day worries! I love doing many things.I like paper crafts, beading, cross stitching,drawing,painting,photography... and the list goes on.Perhaps that is why it takes me so long ...
