Mornings With Mary

Image
It's been such a long time since I posted! It's not even that I don't want to,it's more because of time and or lack of inspiration! I truly would like to change that! A lovely lady over at Recuerda Mi Corazon  invited me to join in on posting on Monday mornings and share a photo and or inspiration about Our Lady Mary. The invitation came months ago and each Monday I meant to post but never actually got to it,because by the time I had the opportunity to post it was already Monday night ! *sigh..But tonight I decided to go ahead and post this photo I took of the Virgin Mary this past Easter, even if it IS after 9:00 p.m.! Most people that know me are aware that I am not religious ,but I am spiritual.I don't exactly view Mary as most people do.But she is MY higher power,a source of comfort & hope for me.So thank you Rebecca for inviting me to join you on Mondays to honor Mary.It means so much to me that you did so,and I promise to post on as many Mondays a...

The feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is Celebrated on December 12. Rebecca of Corazon invited me to participate in A Virgin Day event starting on December 1st until today. It has been such an honor to be a part of this daily celebration of the divine feminine. I have been amazed, touched and inspired by all the posts shared by everyone who has taken this 12 day journey.Once again I want to say:Thank you Rebecca and to all participants for sharing all these little pieces of yourselves! I look forward to next year! Today I was fortunate (and so happy) to have been invited to New York City, to the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe and to St.Patrick's Cathedral to celebrate Our Lady's special day. I would like to share some of the photos I took there. They are all taken with my cell phone.:-) Enjoy!

“In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ― Albert Einstein Abandoned memorial, old cemetery, Woodstock, New York "The best and most beautiful things in this world  cannot be seen or even touched. The Grasp Of Your Hand Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it. Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved, but hope for the patience to win my freedom    Grant me that I may not be a coward, feeling Your mercy in my success alone; but let me find the grasp of Your hand in my failure. from the book, The Heart of God selected andedited by Herbert F. December 12th is the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Each day for the days leading up to it, I am posting a virgin a day. There are many faces to Mary and Rebecca's meme allows us to sjare so many pf them!Come see everyone's contributions here . For my post today I want to share a shadorma poem that I wrote to Mary.It was inspired by a little statuette  of the virgin that stands outside the house across the street from mine.I see it every morning and it makes my day begin with a positive attitude and renewed strength to face whatever the day brings. A shadorma by the way , is "a six line poem (sestet) of Spanish descent with no rhyme scheme. It is a syllabic poem with the following structure 3/5/3/3/7/5 ". My Shadorma: Each morning I begin my day greeting you with a prayer Your very presence gives hope Heals my tender soul~ It's Wednesday!Make it wonderful!

I've been invited to join in the second annual " Virgin A day" by the wonderful  Rebecca @ Recuerda mi Corazon . It begins today and ends on December 12th on Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast Day  I am honored to participate once again. In Rebecca's own words: Today marks the first day of December Beginning twelve days of mornings with Mary. Everyone is invited. While this is not about religion, it is about sharing, about opening hearts, rejoicing in ultimate mother love.it is about light, beauty, inspiration, thoughtful regard. a welcome chance to begin each new day together in beauty and peace. I suspect humor and charm will make strong appearances too. It is really about showing up. So... Here I am! I'm a Mexican American girl who grew up Catholic. Though I have "strayed" from Catholicism ,I honor the great Mother Goddess.I grew up with Our lady of Guadalupe. She is Still my LADY. When I think of a higher power it's her image that pops into my...
